Did you know that your headlines make up 80% of the sale?
In fact, a good headline could boost whatever conversions your current marketing does by nearly 4X!
And yet, business owners screw up on this all the time.
All because they’re making this one simple mistake, that, once I reveal it, will make you question how they never figured it out.
Let me show you.
Nobody In The World (Except You) Wants To See Your Ads
I’m willing to bet my left leg that 90% of advertising fails for this one reason:
The headline is BORRRRRIIIINNNNGGGG!!! Back in the early days of marketing, all you had to do was be the one dentist, or the one plumber, or the one… anything in your town actually advertising, to get floods of clients: it didn’t matter whether your headline was weak or not.
But people are SO bombarded with marketing messages these days, that if your ads don’t capture their attention IMMEDIATELY, you don’t exist!
And remember: Nobody likes advertising.
If your headline gives the reader nothing to latch on to, nothing to make the reader pause and go “Wait, this looks interesting, let me keep reading”, it'll be worse for your branding than sponsoring bank robbers.
But… fear not.
Let me show you two approaches that you can take with your headlines, which guarantee to increase your conversion rate.
How To Get More Clients Using These Winning Headline Formulas
There are two paths you can take with your headlines.
Both complete opposites. Both equally as powerful.
1 - The Negative Approach
People in general are motivated by two distinct emotions.
They are either running away from pain OR They are moving towards pleasure.
A negative headline emphasises the pain that the reader will be moving away from IF they buy your product.
Some examples:
“Do you struggle with speech impediment?”
“Are you struggling to manage your time?”
“Does your lower back hurt?"
Most of the time they’re just questions to the reader, asking them if they’re experiencing pain.
2 - The Positive Approach
This is the pleasure path, and a positive headline tells the reader EXACTLY what your product will help them move towards.
And we’re talking about giving instant benefit: something that they can do today to get them one step closer to where they want to be, tomorrow.
Some examples:
‘Lose “X”kg within 30 days’
‘Learn this skill to become a world-class salesperson’
‘How to make people instantly like you with this one simple trick’
Takes a little practice with these ones, but if you get them juuusssst right, they’re a goldmine for attracting attention.
Highly Converting Headline Templates You Can Use Today!
I strongly believe that the key to writing a good headline is to first research your target market.
BUT, if you don’t want to spend AGGGGEESSSSS calling up your existing clients or researching online, then do this:
For a moment, put yourself in the mind of your prospect.
Imagine his or her daily routine; how they behave, what their ambitions are, what pains they’re experiencing, what would happen if their pains were solved etc.
Now, imagine they come across an ad you're running.
What would they need to see in the first 10 seconds to buy your product/service on the spot?
What words would you have to use? What promises would they like to hear? What emotions would they need to feel?
That is the desire that you’ll use to write a smash hit headline.
